FSW Multiplayer Event!

Filed under: Flight Simulator News — admin @ 4:12 am
We are looking for as many people as possible to fly together for an FSW Multiplayer event, even those who usually fly VATSIM.

This event is for fun and to help with restoring this forum's former pride and glory. We would be performing the long haul route KLAX-VHHX in, what else, but heavy metal. We want everyone to come so below are links to preparing your computer for Multiplayer, as well as where to find freeware scenery for Kai-Tak airport, and finding some good jets to fly.

But before the links, we need the logistics of the event. The event would be kicked off early Saturday April Fourth 2009 at 1500 Zulu time. The starting airport will be Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX) and the ending airport will be Kai-Tak international airport. The routing will be determined soon and posted in this topic. The routing has been determined and can be found here. The approximate length of this flight will be 14 hours.

Link to topic: Be sure to keep updated. The topic includes all necessary information as well as links to freeware scenery for Kai Tak. Mulitplayer Section

Simtube Upgrade

Filed under: Flight Simulator News — admin @ 10:03 pm
Just wanted to announce that we have made some changes over at SimTube.

The comments are now a bit more intuitive and allow you to respond directly to another comment instead of just the video itself, but the major upgrade was the installation of a new video player. Aspect ratio is now handled appropriately, and the player also takes advantage of multiple cpu cores so things like full-screen playback are smoother and less-taxing on your computer.

We are working to support HD videos as well, so look for that soon.

Vehicle Simulator officially released

Filed under: Flight Simulator News — admin @ 7:44 am
After more than two years of intensive development I am proud to announce my new simulator called Vehicle Simulator is finally released. Vehicle Simulator is a unique simulator, combining land, underwater, sea surface, air and low orbit environments into one, the program makes it possible to drive, fly, sail, dive, and go into space in one convincing simulation environment.

The program excels especially as a flight simulator and as a naval simulator combining the powers of two previous simulators Micro Flight and Virtual Sailor into one, however the game engine was completely re written and has far greater capability and capacity than any of the previous ones it was made of.

Vehicle Simulator has some unique and innovative features that stand out compared to other programs of its kind, here are some of them:

* Ability to see air flow visualization, allowing you to learn how to soar cleverly using the rising currents of air caused by wind, thermals cloud suction.

* Ability to design your landscape easily inside the program itself, in 3D, editing everything including the ground and vegetation upon it.

* Ability to design your vehicle out of components, and elements, position and adjust each of them, giving your vehicle unlimited functionality.

* Built-in simulation of Hang Gliders, Para gliders, Hot air balloons, dirigibles, planes, gliders, rocket planes, boats, cars, micro lights, and more.

* Ability to import scenery directly out of SRTM data and using it on the fly without the need for any additional work.

* Simulating animals of all kinds, on land air and water, and allowing creation of new ones and programming their behavior.

* Simulating weapons of all kinds allowing you to practice weapon operation for the fun of it.

* Advanced recording and playback of flights, and addition of pre recorded vehicles into an exiting one.

The program uses fully documented file formats, and invites a hands on experiences, noting is locked away from the user, allowing third party add-ons to be easily made.

The program can be found on these websites:

Around the World With It’s Your Plane Tours

Filed under: Flight Simulator News — admin @ 1:38 am
A Bit of History: Several years ago, before he developed It's Your Plane (IYP), Robert Cezar wrote and published online, his virtual Around the World trip that began in 2002 and ended in 2003. Robert embarked on the first leg of his journey on November 20, 2002, when he “flew" from the small seaside airport of Oceano, California to Half Moon Bay, California, in a Cessna C182T turbo. He recorded his journey as close to real-time as possible and so after visiting many countries along his route, he finally landed back home in Oceano in November 2003.

Have you checked out the Tours section of IYP lately?
It has always been Robert's intention to transfer all legs of his journey into IYP Tours so that members could enjoy them. However, time has been too short to complete more than the first few Tour Flights in the Around The World Package: Click here to read the original Around The World trip, this time flown in a Beechcraft Baron 58 twin.

The following Tour Flights are operational in FS9

001-Oceano, CA to Half Moon Bay, CA
002-Half Moon Bay, CA to Reno Stead, NV
003-Reno Stead, NV to Walla Walla, WA
004-Walla Walla, WA to Trail, BC
005-Trail, BC to Banff, AB

And the following Tour Flights are operational in FSX

001-Oceano, CA to Half Moon Bay, CA
002-Half Moon Bay, CA to Reno Stead, NV
003-Reno Stead, NV to Walla Walla, WA
004-Walla Walla, WA to Trail, BC
005-Trail, BC to Banff, AB
006-Banff to Ft. St. John
007-Ft. St. John to Haines, Alaska

We will be releasing additional Tour Flights in the future and will inform you when they become available.

Also included in IYP Tours
IYP is very glad to also include an additional Tour Package and Tour Flight in IYP Tours, developed by long-time IYP beta tester and enthusiast, Jaap van Hees:

Montserrat Memories - running rescue missions after the Montserrat volcanic eruptions in 1995.
Stage 08: Stehekin State - Lake Wenatchee State - running bootleg whisky and low on fuel.

If anyone else would like to create one or more Around The World Tour Flights from Robert's original journey, please contact us to find out which ones are open for development. Or… maybe you would like to create and post your own Tour Flight for other IYP users to enjoy. Why not?

We encourage all IYP users to click on the Tours icon on the IYP Home page, select one of the current Flight Tours and enjoy!
